Dr. William Douglas Shaw, Jr., MD, FACP

Dr. Shaw was born and raised in Greensboro and graduated from Page High School. He received his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he was also Assistant Chief of Medicine, Instructor of Internal Medicine. Dr. Shaw joined Guilford Medical in 2005. Dr. Shaw serves on several committees for Triad Healthcare Network.
Dr. Shaw is our Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Physician Team Lead. He works closely with our Quality Department and our GMA team to set the tone for how the practice will function as a medical home and to ensure Guilford Medical Associates has clinical and operational support and resources needed in order to implement and maintain our PCMH model.
Dr. Shaw is married and has 3 children. He enjoys coaching his kids’ soccer teams and spending time at the lake with his family.
